When the folks at PB&J Shop offered me a chance to review an item, I thought I can’t say no! I do love PB&J after all (though my favorite is pb & honey).

I was smitten with these Poetic Licence Jeweled Expression shoes.  They reminded me an awful lot of one of my favorite pairs of shoes during college– a simple pair of blue flats (with a similar heel) by Steve Madden (before his shoes became ridiculously priced & horrible quality).

With those college shoes came a certain attitude.  A fresh rebellion, an arrogant confidence, a quick wit and sharper mind.  While I wasn’t perfect in college, there were a lot of things I admired about myself back then– elements of myself I’m always trying to regain in my life.  Those shoes, and these shoes, remind me of that.  A girl who put on fancy shoes with jeans and a striped shirt and felt ready for class & the world.

As I put on these shoes, the Beau said to me, “Those look good on you.  You don’t wear bright colors like that anymore, but they look good.” I love him for noticing, and I love bringing that stylistic side back in to my life.

These heels are more embellished than that original pair, but I love that about them.  I love the rhinestone button, the on-trend neon trim, and contrasting pink heel (that’s perfect for a day at work).  A perfect balance of bold details.  Poetic Licence is a brand I love– like their sister company, Irregular Choice, they’re daring and playful; unlike Irregular Choice, I don’t find them pushing too far outside the realm of wearable.

PB&J also has my beloved Poetic Licence Magical Sunset wedges and, HELLO!, how do I love these Lady Victoria boots?  Tapestry and velvet ribbons? Bestill my Antiquarian heart.

I’ve also stopped buying Fluevogs because I find that while they should be perfectly comfortable, there’s always something off & wrong (then I sell them on eBay).  Like they’re too narrow, so my foot slides a lot because I buy them a half size up.  Or the arch is in the wrong spot.  Or they put a weird heel on it that cuts into the ball of your foot and you can feel it when you walk.

So in a magical world, if I could try them all on in person & had a Fluevog shopping spree, I’d bring all of these home with me.

I picked up these Poetic Licence Magical Sunset wedges in a recent Ideeli sale. With credits, I managed to score them for $13. They’re one of those shoes that magically manages to be “very me,” while being “very not me.” Floral is something that I don’t manage to incorporate in to my wardrobe often…. but this pattern is very delicate, very soft, and almost made up essentially of neutrals. The other day I wore it with the City Chic Pretty Frilly Chiffon Dress, and managed to feel very feminine, very delicate, very Southern and soft.

The Ideeli price was both more than and less than what I found them for online (and this is why I ALWAYS suggest google searching before buying on a sample sale site!).  There’s a lovely tan, nude, beige pair of them that is also on sale.

I’ve been popping in over at Shoe Thief regularly to ogle this one pair of delicious Rock & Republic Charlize wedges– they’re impractical, rock n’ roll (and kind of strippery), and 85% off.

Say whut, bish?  I’m on that like white on rice!

So far the selection is limited, though they seem to bring in new brands & styles every few weeks.  Right now you can find tons of shoes by Rock & Republic, Faryl Robin, Dolce Vita, 80%20, and Steve Madden, among others.  Lemme tell you– using my google-fu, some of my favorites I haven’t been able to find cheaper yet.

Since my 28th birthday is coming up, I’m revamping some Christmas carols to Birthday songs, in the hopes the Shoe Thief comes down my closet door and brings me shoes!
