Dramatis Personae Disclosure Policy
In accordance with the new FTC rulings, I’ve created this page to provide transparency between myself, readers, and companies I may work with now or in the future. Please note, that you can always find an abbreviated version of this policy in the website’s footer!
I have occasionally received free products from a company in exchange for a review of their merchandise. I always disclose to the PR representative that I will make an honest assessment of the product on the site, or if I feel very strongly against it, will not be reviewed at all. Product samples for review purposes will not be returned, unless earlier arrangements have been made with me.
I try to be honest in my posts that the item was received from them for free, by using language such as “COMPANY was kind enough to send me this product for review”; this is contrasted against language like, “I was so excited PRODUCT came out, that I had to go out & snatch it up immediately!” which indicates that I purchased the item myself for review. Often items listed in an outfit photo will be marked “Courtesy of” or “C/O” and the brand name.
If you have, at any point, questions about whether the product was given to me or purchased by me, please email me or leave me a comment, and I will be more than happy to clarify!
Sponsors & Advertisers.
At this point I am only accepting a very limited number of sponsors for Dramatis Personae. In the event of a sponsored post, there will be language like, “In accordance with FTC regulations, I received compensation from COMPANY for this post. This does not affect the opinions listed above.”
Dramatis Personae receives a majority of its revenue from advertisements, through Google Adsense or the Style Coalition network. Ads are placed in the left sidebar, and occasionally above the header. Revenue is based on page views or the number of clicks reviewed.
I strive, to the best of my abilities, to make sure that ads are not obstructive to the site and that any sponsored posts align with the site’s mission.
Some links may be affiliate links: affiliate links have a unique code attached that stores a cookie in your web browser. In the event you buy something from them, I receive a small commission. Rest assured that all links are items loved, lusted for, and have received that Ashe seal of approval! All affiliate links are for products that I own, that I would buy, would buy, or are from brands I love that may help illustrate a point.
It is always my hope that a reader will choose to use my affiliate link when purchasing an item so that I may support my site, but no reader is obligated to, and many are aware that I use affiliate links in my posts.
My affiliates networks include ShareASale, rewardStyle, ShopSense by PopSugar, Linkshare, and Amazon.
