There are a few songs I’m helplessly addicted to, and one of them is Don Henley’s “The Boys of Summer.” So much so, that I was OBSESSED with buying Ray Ban Wayfarers to emulate the lyrics, “You’ve got your hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby.” As a gal obsessed with the 80s, these iconic sunglasses are a necessary.
Twisted rationale? Possibly. Does it work for me? Absolutely.
The fellas parents were in town this past weekend, so I put on my new Trashy Diva Trixie Play Suit for Sunday brunch at Coquette. It was future Father-in-Laws birthday, and we wanted the small chance to treat them to something delicious (because they’d spoiled us so with so much good food all weekend).
Needless to say, everyone had a great brunch… from the strong cocktails, to sharing a wonderful, warm donut, and the amazing food all around. OMG– one of the desserts was an Olive Oil chiffon with English Pea ice cream and lemon curd… we were all so curious about the combination, but it was amazing. Seriously– if you’re in NOLA, visit Coquette. We’ve been twice now, and every time I go the food is so amazing and delicious.
I hoped to break in these newish Miz Mooz wedges, thinking a short walk to the restaurant and back would be perfect… but wouldn’t you know, I swapped them out right before leaving for these B. Makowsky lace-up flats. I was a lot more comfortable (and to be honest, I’m amazed at the wear they’ve gotten over the last 2+ years… clearly a good wardrobe investment)!
I hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day weekend!
