When getting ready for Texas Style Council, the biggest decision I had to make was what to wear to prom (and I kind of packed two options. Not joking). In the end, I was really feeling a bit more Rachel Zoe and bohemian inspired, so opted for this beautiful Odylyne dress. I had seen it on Kelsi and was DYING for it (not to mention, she looks really fucking stunning in it).
Odylyne is an independent brand based out of Los Angeles, and describe their line as “a simple concept and blend of bohemian and vintage styles with a touch of modern, clean lines.” I’ve felt my style transitioning and shifting lately, and those words touched on many of the qualities I’ve been gravitating towards.
Yet, I’m really not a bohemian gal, so I played up the flowing layers, ruched neckline, and dye patterning as inspired by Studio 54/the Last Days of Disco meets Janis Joplin/Stevie Nicks. Classic rock and roll mixed with 70s glamour. That’s the kind of woman I am.
This Hayden Harnett ‘Light’ cuff comes from Stylyt, and site that combines independent designers with their fans to create fan-designed pieces. I’ve long been a fan of Hayden Harnett (they’re my #1 go-to for beautiful, quality purses – I own 3 purses, 1 clutch, and a wallet!).
I was really compelled by the mission of Stylyt, as it gives independent brands and their fans the opportunity to produce fan designed versions of their products. Each week a new designer + their popular designs are released to the community for redesign via pattern, color, and texture. The community votes on the designs, and the winners move on to be released and sold to the public. Curren collaborations include Hayden Harnett, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Brandy Pham, E. Kammeyer, Lovers + Friends, and Heet for sale.
It’s really a clever and great way to bring designers & their fans together, and I’ve loved seeing the outcomes!
(Plus, I’m excited to see Hayden Harnett back in business– after their bankruptcy a few years back, I was worried they wouldn’t be sticking around.)
What I Wore:
Odylyne Dress (c/o Odylyne; see also beautiful pink version!))
Feather Earrings from Fifi Mahony’s (from college!)
Hayden Harnett ‘Light’ cuff (c/o Stylyt)
Miz Mooz Pamela wedges (c/o of Miz Mooz and out of stock: similar)
Black Patent Belt
Michael Kors Runway Watch
I should also note: it’s pretty rare that I wear so many courtesy of items together in one outfit. But each of these pieces has such wonderful background and story that I have to share (and they all just looked so good together)!
