When I was in my early 20s, compared to my mid-20s, there was a rule I had for going out: never repeat an outfit. I was club ho master remixer when it came to my wardrobe.
Now? Things have changed. Maybe it’s because I’m not as slim and my wardrobe not so extensive. Maybe I have fewer people to impress. This outfit’s from Friday night. You know what? I wore it the Thursday before. I figure since I only saw two friends consistently those days and it was a different spot, it was okay to do it.
It felt kind of funny though. And I’m obviously still a club ho, because I love wearing a sheer shirt over a bright bra.
My party style has shifted around a lot in the last few years, and as a result, I’ve lost my going out style. I’m frankly not certain how to dress when I go out. What’s a 26 year old wear to the alternative bar/club? At least I’m not the only one thrown off on how to dress now that we can go out dancing again….some of my girl friends have voiced the same uncertainty….
At least I can have fun in the process?

Flashback to early ’80s Madonna with the lace leggings! Nice.

I really feel early ’80s Madonna in them! Especially with them so short…
Those white lace leggings are really cute!

I love all the different textures and patterns in this outfit! It seems like it should just look like a riot, but it doesn’t. Or it does, maybe, but in a good way! Nay, a great way.

It certainly looks like you know how!
I don’t really like to repeat outfits either (cute ones anyway, the jeans/t-shirt thing – nbd) and I kind of tell myself when I’m wearing something I really like, “This would be great to wear to ” but my tastes change so quickly that it just doesn’t happen.
Hey, sometimes you have to club ho it up. Not a damn thing wrong with that. =D

You look gorgeous in that second photo especially :) Love the look, and I DID notice the DestroyX crest necklace.
It made me laugh to read “What’s a 26 year old wear to the alternative bar/club?” – cos I’m a 45 year old who still hoes it up at the pub/club! Last night I wore over the knee boots, biker jacket and shiny leggings – and a DestroyX necklace (what a coincidence) – but it was the white skeleton ribcage one!

I always go for a cocktail dress. Works for almost everything.
Yes, definitely have fun in the process. Wear whatever the hell you want, girlfriend! :)
Ah, but growing older molds us into different (usually better) versions of ourselves, am I right? When I go out (which is, like almost never) mostly, I feel like a old woman (I live in a college town where many of the bar patrons are about 21-24 years old)…and i worry about seeing my students and forgetting their names! :)
PS. bright bras under sheer shirts look totally cool!
