I found this in an old journal today as I was unpacking, from 2004 and when I was spending the summer in Paris. It struck me as a charming quote, a truthful quote, and one applicable to all of those other bitches in our lives that we become infatuated with…
Paris is a bitch and…. one should not become infatuated with with bitches, particularly when they have wit, imagination, experience, and tradition behind their ruthlessness.
- poet Robert McAlmon

Aww hehe, it’s a cute quote. I will forever be infatuated with Paris until I can live there for a while, then maybe I’d be sick of it. Though I find that almost impossible.

I think Paris has too much in it to ever get sick of it… though maybe I am wrong! It feels like a neverending city from when I was there….
Heh. One might say the same thing about New York…but that doesn’t make me love it any less. And that’s the most painful part. :-p
Great post, though. :-D
HA. I’ve never been to Paris and it doesn’t have the appeal to me that it holds in pop culture (I mean, I’d like to visit, but I’d like to visit Reykjavik or Copenhagen first…)…but I’ve sure met some people this applies to.

So true. I loved Paris but also remember 90 plus days in the summer on the metro, not a lovely smell.
Oh true! I remember those days…
Haha, what a great quote- finally an explanation for why the hell I (we?) put up with Paris, NYC, Chicago, London, and other sometimes frustrating cities :)
That is a great quote…definitely applicable not only to Paris :)

Ah, but the best bitches are so intriguing that you can’t help but become infatuated. How else would you know if they were doing it right?
So true! So true… sadly, but so true.
