Now I’m not a girl who gets crazy on photo editorials, but when I come across one I love, I LLLUUUUVVVV it. Which happened when I came across ALL the photo editorials for Melissa’s online magazine, Plastic. I’m such a fan of the shoe company as it is, but to see the sexy circus theme in their 3rd issue? Also featuring burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese & new shoe designs by Jean Paul Gaultier?
It’s super inspiring, and I love seeing the bubblegum-scented, plastic shoes paired against such contrasting clothing styles– it’s a great inspiration on how to style plastic shoes and make them look sophisticated.
I didn’t know that Melissa had an amazing e-magazine that came out– but you can download Melissa’s Plastic et Circenses. It’s all in Brazilian, but the photography and artwork are vibrant and beautiful! Tomorrow I’ll show off their macabre, their dark, and their playful renditions of circus style.

You had me at Dita. LOVE this too, and I’ve actually been stalking the Lady Dragons in the last picture forever. I need those shoes!

The Lady Dragons are SUCH a good shoe… lovely shape, practical heel. Get them in a size down though, I hear that style runs big!
Amazing! It makes me start thinking that I need to get my butt in gear for Halloween.

You & me both! D:
OMG, I love this editorial. It’s stunning. Thanks for sharing it. I had no idea Melissa had a magazine either. I never really knew about them until the Vivenne Westwood collab. They remind me of grown up jelly shoes from the 80s.
It’s amazing– I came across the images on We Heart It, which wasn’t working well, so I had to source them. They were HARD to find! They really are grown up jelly shoes too. I love them.
Wow! It’s all amazing, but I particularly love that pink corset in the third image. Beautiful.
Isn’t it incredible? Definitely some artistry there!
I love Dita! She IS glamour. The first photo is my favorite. All in all, awesome and amazing collab!
That is such a gorgeous shoot. I love the colours.
