HAIIIIII LUCIIEEEE

by Ashe on July 19, 2010

Back in February/March, Lucie from Lucie Lu was kind enough to send me a couple piece from the current collection.  I had written about the store in February, having just found out about it.  I picked out the Delaney Skirt in Jade and the Dresden Jacket (which seems to be no longer in stock); I had incredibly mixed feelings on them, and so Lucie was kind enough to send me a Tatum Dress to try out, thinking it may be a better fit for me.

The Tatum dress has a great denim look, but with the comfort of a knit. I love the defined waist of the dress, the ruching at the bust, the vibrant silver zipper and pockets (with little silver buttons).  I’ve worn this dress the past two days– first to a bridal shower, and then again today out to the mall.  It’s super easy to wear–just pull it on over your head, add cute shoes.  In the summer, when it’s hot and I’m busy, I want easy style.

If you’re like me and between sizes, go down a size.  I did, and found that it created  a perfect fit.  Originally I was worried about the length, but thought it hit a really nice place on the leg…

The customer service at Lucie Lu is wonderful– Lucie has been so flexible, accommodating, and friendly. She’s helped out by sending along new sizes when one didn’t fit quite right, was open and so responsive when I wrote her, worried about mixed feelings on pieces.

I wanted to include some pictures I had taken of the Delaney skirt… while it needs some altering, I really liked how the images came out.  It’s a really fun, 90s feel skirt… and once I bring it up above my knees, I think it’ll get a bit of wear.

There are some new, adorable pieces on the Lucie Lu site– including the Honor Dress and the Lacey Cover.  It’s great to see her site growing, as every extra plus-sized shop with great clothes at a variety of prices is an asset to fashion.

Diggin’ the lace tights and the plaid…killer combo. That’s a lot more me than the dots-n-stripes pattern mix. Note to self: remember for fall!

Are those the Rodarte tights?! I love ‘em. :-D

Great dress, too. You need one of your little top hats to go with it.

WERRRRRRRRRRRRRK!!! That dress is so pretty. I like the length. I hear that’s supposed to be big in fall…not that it matters, because this would look great in any season.
