A year ago I shared some exploits in buying cute plus sized bras, and given my unusual bra size, it’s not an easy feat. Finding cute, or pretty, or sexy plus-sized bras that fit my frame, offer padding, aren’t maternity or matronly– is a challenge.
It’s suggested you buy new bras every 3-6 months, because weight fluctuates, fabric stretches out and loses it shapes, your body shape changes, etc. All of these factors, and a few popped underwires had me back on the quest for new bras.
I’ve been reluctant– the bra I wanted from Hips & Curves has been on backorder for the greater part of the year (February 28th, to be exact). This finally meant I needed to break down and check out someplace else. I’d popped over to OneStopPlus when a Google search led me there looking for bike shorts.
What did I find? A plethora of great sexy, sweet, playful, padded, plunge, push-up bras… all to my liking, all under $30, and all in my size. For the first time in my life, I have more than 2 bras. I’m totally excited. They also have a program where if you buy 5 bras, you get 1 free.
Ashe Mischief’s Personal Picks:
Tuxedo Plunge Underwire Bra- I originally ordered this bra in black– loved it so much that I went back to order it in Nude (it matches my porcelain complexion much better than the models) and Rose. They were already on sale, and I managed to use a 20% off purchase code too! It’s also on sale in lavender and in blue.
Heirloom Floral Underwire Bra-probably my favorite of the bunch. Its so comfortable to wear, pretty on the eye… the beau loves it too. I never in my life thought I’d ever really get to wear pretty bras… at a 44B, they’re just hard to come by. This guy is out of stock, and it’s no surprise! The little black and white polka dotted balconette bra I picked up is also out of stock…
Honorable Mentions:
Blue Leopard Balconette Bra (OMG. This one came home to to me. I love it.); Red Lace Bra (comes in other colors too–like 8 of them); Lavender lace bra; Striped Plunge Bra.
Oddly, all of the bras I picked up were by Avenue. They all fit well, are flattering, so it’s probably going to be the first place I look when it comes time for new bras again… so far I’m incredibly happy with all aspects of my bra purchases.

Because of the D factory I have over here, finding bras is always a challenge for me, plus whenever I go into Victoria Secret. I’m astounded at how much they want for 1 bra! I know they’re foundation pieces, but for nearly 60 bucks that bra better get up and make breakfast as well!

After years of searching I’ve found that the Vanity Fair model 75031 is the PERFECT bra for my 40 D. They are pretty but not too frilly. Even has a side smoothing feature. Comes in light blue, white, cream, black and rose. I ordered them off Amazon.com and got free shipping.
Great info! There are a couple ladies I know who will be excited to explore that site!

I’ll definitely have to check out The Avenue. It’s so difficult to find bras for a plus-sized girl (38DDD over here) that don’t break the bank. I’m the same as in in that I can’t buy too many bras as once, so I’m pretty selective.
Have you ever checked Bravissimo (http://www.bravissimo.com)? I know they’re UK-based, but I believe they ship worldwide. Their bras are cute and fliry and seemingly affordable as well. Glad to see so many more options for the more er, well-endowed girl.

Sadly, my size is odd– 44 B– large through the ribcage, but not so large in the cup! Bravvisimmo doesn’t work at ALL for me, since they stop at 40 but start at D :/
Im a 32e so its extremely hard to find bras any suggestions?
Hey Amanda,
My suggestion for a better resource might be thelingerieaddict.com or http://www.thefullfiguredchest.com/ — both are excellent resources for lingerie and bras, and I bet both of them have TONS of posts already suited to your need! Simply because my gals are a much smaller cup but larger band, so I’m not entirely sure of necessary support tools and the like!
