Works hard for it honey. We’re in the midst of festival season (going in to weekend 3 of 10!), which means Ashe Mischief has to dress up like Ashley R., big girl doing work.

I received this skirt a few weeks back from B&Lu, as part of the goodies they had sent me earlier in the season, including the Alma top & Belva leggings. However, this had sold out quickly, so it took a while to get the re-stock in. The Althea skirt wasn’t something I would have picked out normally, but the style of it grew on me a LOT. I love the flattering cut, the floral applique, and the POCKETS. I LOVE that this skirt has pockets. It made work a lot easier (as I have to haul around a big chunk of keys and a walkie-talkie).
I’m still in love with the Alma top. I wear it often, have it in multiple colors (and *cough* multiples of the same color). It’s really got perfect shirt written all over it. I wish I had a short sleeved version for easy summer wearing.

I adore the following about it:
- elastic waistband! (I find them oh-so-comfy)
- Floral detailing, SUPER pretty in person (pardon my blurry, not so good photography skills)
- POCKETS!
- Lightweight, but sturdy material. (Great for super hot summer days and layering in the winter)
The following, not so crazy about:
- elastic waistband. I ordered a size up, and the elastic is so snugly put on that it STILL gives me muffin top. Which is odd, because it has PLENTY of room. I could fit two of me in this skirt. (My fix will be remove the waistband, install a new one.) So if considering wearing this skirt, consider how “squishy” your waist is, and whether that aspect would bother you.
- the hem– while the rest of the skirt is made well, I found lots of loose threads and had to cut them off pre-show, so that little old patrons didn’t think I was sloppy.
In the middle? The color. While sand/nude is in my color palette, this falls a bit darker and a bit more khaki. And I’m COMPLETELY unaccustomed to wearing khaki-esque fabrics. So it’ll be an experiment playing with it, and figuring out how to wear it… which I’m really looking forward to!

I love skirts with pockets, and dresses with ‘hidden’ pockets, they definitely make everything easier, especially when going out and you have to coat-check your purse. I’m with you on the color though; I’ve never been too crazy about khaki, mainly because my school uniform involved khaki skirts ;\ But whatever you look cute darling, love your hair!

Thanks, doll!
Khaki/sand can be really challenging to wear! I haven\’t worn it since I was about 18, when I worked at Old Navy…. it\’s super easy & classy to pair with black, but I\’m still working out the other colors….
I love skirts (and dresses) with pockets, they are my fave! The skirt is beautiful, you look ab fab :)

Thanks, Amy! It’s really quite cozy & comfy to wear…. esp. considering how hot it is down here! If only I could bypass the tights…
FABULOUS and I think I’m getting three of the Alma tops (all in black and that plum color). I’ve worn the color combinations here, cream colored skirt with black tights for years! It’s dramatic but very classy.
Girl, I LOVE my Alma tops– I have 2 black, 1 purple (thinking of getting another) and the blue & white striped…. I get teased because I wear them so often!
Elastic waistbands make me crazy!

Crazy good or crazy bad?!
(Or maybe both?)– they’re SO comfy and great when you have to move around a lot, but that squish factor is not so sexy!
Love the skirt with floral applique–pretty!

I LOVE skirts with pockets. Isn’t it great to have places to put things without lugging a bag around?
It makes me so jealous of boys

There are so many dif types of elastic… I think either wider or some with a more relaxed stretch would work better to avoid the dreaded muffin top. God, I hate sewing in elastic! Adorable outfit though!
