Hi, my beautiful bijoux. It’s 2010. How does that sound? Are you as excited about it as I am? I’ve always enjoyed the end of a year, making resolutions and dreaming about the new year, but this go around, I feel this swelling tide of magic bursting through. Do you feel it too? I’ve got a great feeling that wonderful things are going to happen in 2010 and the decade beyond.
It seems like the end of 2009 has so many people swimming in disasters– from the Christmas terrorist event to colleagues and friends being plagued by car crashes, emergency surgeries, and deaths. It all reminds me that the storm gets worse before it gets better. This happens in my own life as well, from the difficulties of relocating and starting a new position to finding a new home.
I feel it falling in to place.
If I keep the momentum going and keep pouring belief & truth & positivity out there, I will accomplish so much this year. The 2009 showed just how much the Universe was willing to give me, if I focused my energy on gaining and achieving “it.” So I will make 2010 the first year of a decade of being an “It Girl”– “It” being whatever I want it to be!
Make Magic in My Life.
I’ve relocated to one of the most magical cities in the country, and I want to reconnect and embrace that magic without sacrificing the growth and changes that Mid-Western living has ingrained in me. I want to harness all the beauty, creativity, energy and spirit of living in New Orleans once again and combine it with the woman I grew in to in Indiana– to create a better uber-me!
Be My Best — Unapologetically.
Being in a new city, in my new home, gives me the chance to dedicate and refocus myself on becoming my best– in my health, my projects, my job. I’ll continue to do my best, enjoy my life, and make no apologies when I fail to live up to someone’s expectations of what they think my best is. I know, deep down, at the core of this is a life in moderation–in alcohol and shopping, dancing and working, and indulging in my favorite eats and living within my means. All of it is best in moderation, and I hope to bring myself more balance in to my life.

Great post for the first of the year! It is getting me all pumped for the endless possibilities that 2010 offers. I must say I find new years a guilty pleasure as well. I do get sucked up in the idea of making a fresh start. Happy new year!
