January has been a glorious month for me so far (despite the bit of Mercury Retrograde going on)! I’m excited to do my first Things I Love Thursday of the year, because there are so many things to love on!
♥ Extracurricular Writing Projects: I’m pleased as punch to announce that I’m doing a bit of writing for Heels.com’s new blog, High Heels. I also did a recent guest post for the gorgeous Freya at Fish Nor Fowl on Creativity Meeting Personal Style. I’m working on a few others, which I will share as they materialize more!
♥ Self-Love, and I’m not talking about self-confidence! Between Gala’s talk of the iVibe Rabbit and Freya’s recent post on the Lelo Lily, I’ve been thinking about the tools of self-love in my own life. I’ve been kind of quietly eying Lelo’s line of vibrators, particularly the Nea and Lily! They’re so delicate and beautiful looking, how could I not be curious?
♥ Building Up the Etsy Shop, which has been just so much fun! It’s a learning process all along, from trying to get decent photographs of myself (with bad winter light, a broken tripod, and no extra hands!), to pricing, and to making up each piece! I’m trying to branch out, create pieces that aren’t identical to one another, though there is a bit of overlap right now.
♥ Caving in to Temptation…. and being disappointed. Let’s say my January Challenge had a weak moment, and I caved. But in the process, I learned quite a bit about how far I’ve come! I’ll be sure to expand farther on it when I share my February goals…

Honorable Mentions: Doe Deer’s 80s Rockstar Alter Ego Contest (which I had a ton of fun dressing up & taking pictures for!); package delivery galore! (craft supplies, belated holiday gifts, books, my Obama Riding a Unicorn t-shirt, and hopefully a few others soon!); the idea of buying a hula hoop & taking up “hooping”; finally finding & ordering black boots I like from Duo Boots– yay for 50% off and the pound weakening a bit!; sharing books with “my wifey”; the never ending support, laughter, enthusiasm, snuggles, love, & mischief the Faux Beau provides; standing up for my convinctions, even if it meant losing a friend; slowly but surely paying off debt!

Oooh congratulations on the guest posts!
Thank you so much for your guest post! I too am considering hooping (I think all us ladies got hoop-mania!). I used to hoop a lot when I worked for a 50s diner, we did little competitions and stuff, but I’m worried I wouldn’t be able to do anything anymore.
@Freya – Thank you for the opportunity, honey! You’re always welcome to guest post here!
I think Gala has made us all hoop crazy! That is SO fun that you hooped at a 50s diner– fantastic! It’d be great if you got in it again & incorporated it in to your burlesque <3 <3
I thought about hooping, but then I remembered how much I loved jump roping when I was a kid. I would jump rope for hours and hours at a time. So I went out and bought myself one, it’s been so much fun. I highly recommend picking up an activity you loved when you were a kid. (I also really love swings and still play on them every chance I get!)
Thank you for linking to that Carmine post! I was pretty nervous about putting that article up, I’m glad it was received well. :)
i’m a fan of doe deere’s 80s alter-ego contest too!! so much fun, and i love seeing all the reader submissions.
This is an EXCELLENT list :) Happy 2009, lovely!

You got a great list there. It sounds like there’s a lot of fun stuff going on in your life! Good for you! I’m excited to see more of your writing projects and your etsy store!
@Jami – Of course! Though I don’t comment as often as I want, I love the Carmine blog a lot! That was a particularly grabbing article that I felt like many men & women can identify with!
@x Miss Corrine x – Thank you, Miss C! It’s good to have you back in the blogosphere!
@jennine – Thank you, honey!
@Beka – Thank you, Beka! Having the support of you lovely ladies really keeps my energy up!
The nea is TOTALLY worth it. I love mine. :)
