Talking to my oldest nephew about the college experience & sharing advice/tips with him (he’s a first-semester freshman!); Indie Designer generosity/sale bliss!; my giant owl claw, talon bracelets, and curled magpie nails; the return of the Great Pumpkin [Spice Latte] & all other delicious pumpkin foods (and I the only one who hates that pumpkin-flavor is seasonal?); autumn in the Mid-West & trees in hundreds of colors;

Direct Flights to Denver; kisses, kisses and snuggles and MOAR snuggles with the fella; returning to the imp kitten & the ‘return of mommy’ snuggles from My Darling Lo; adrenaline rushes; world’s best Chinese food; fine dining; high altitude wine buzzes; seeing old fabulous lovers (my Atomic Sean!) from New Orleans & surprising them; realizing even the bickering and snapping is worth it; realizing the reason you’re fighting, exhausted, & upset is because you both just want to hug & can’t; seeing the Rockies & an endless sky every day.

Moving to New Orleans.
I have mixed feelings on this, but as of Monday I have put in my notice, and I will be returning to New Orleans within a few weeks. After 4+ years in Indiana, it will be good to return to the only city I’ve called home. ThoughI will miss Indiana… it’s a gorgeous state with a beautiful Autumn, the best doughnuts in the world, a drive-in theater that felt like home, universes of stars, and some amazing memories… but it will be good to start a new chapter of my life (or bring the circle to a close, as I see it).

Nope. you aren’t alone wishing pumpkin flavored items were year round!
Congratulations on starting a new chapter (closing the circle!) – I am sending you all the positive thoughts I can your way!

When I moved back to NOLA after being away 3.5 years it was odd. Now that I’ve been back for a year I really feel settled in. At first the Pre-K changes were odd and I felt a disconnect but at the core New Orleans still offers everything that I love.

Gilda, considered yourself invited! I’d love to have a fashion blogger slumber party…
Mary, I’d love to see you posting lists like these! They’re often a nice peek in to our lives outside the niche at hand, you know?
Christy, your comment meant a lot. I do worry a bit about feeling unsettled & disconnected, especially since I DO have a bad habit of that when I move to a new place & so many of my old haunts are changed. Also, I can’t believe you’ve been back a year already!
I think there will definite period of adjustment, because a lot HAS changed (but often in great ways!). I feel a lot closer to a lot of people than I did four years ago, and I’ve got lots of them to introduce you to!
