♥ No more snow! While the weather hasn’t been ideal April weather (it’s been very chilly-to-the-bone and wet), it’s no longer snowing! This means the return of fabulous footwear…
♥ Fabulous Fluevogs! It’s been driving me nuts to see so many great pairs of Fluevogs on sale, and so many new styles entering the website! My shoe-consciousness has just been repeating “Fluevog, Fluevog, Fluevog” over & over.
♥ Parks & Tibetan Monasteries. A little known fact is that my Mid-Western home is also home to a Tibetan Monastery run by the Dahli Lama’s brother. Across the street from it is one of the loveliest parks and playgrounds I’ve ever seen; it’s surrounded by trees and has the most perfect sense of serene. How it took me 3.5 years to find this, I don’t know, but I look forward to hooping practice there.

♥ Sneaking in to 3-D Movies. After seeing Coraline and paying $12.50 per ticket, the fella & I decided NOT to “recycle” our glasses. Instead, we kept them, and have been sneaking in to the new 3-D movies by buying $5 tickets to other films. Perhaps not ethical, but I have cultural policy & the arts arguments to justify doing it. That’s all I need to keep myself happy, especially if the theaters are not going to make “buying” the glasses an option, nor offering discounted tickets for those who do.
♥ Ghetto Solutions making for Comfortable Situations. As a mostly single gal in a queen sized bed, I’ve come across an uncomfortable issue: sagging in the middle of the bed. It gives me the worst nights of sleep, and body aches & pains all over. After some Google-fu and a coworker’s help, I’ve put a quilt folded in half between the box spring & mattress. The result? A firmer and more even bed. My sleep has been joyful ever since.
♥ Extra-curricular writing projects. This includes guest editing Links a la Mode for the Independent Fashion bloggers (links up tomorrow); working with other blogs & bloggers (including the super wonderful interview with Alix Rose). More details coming soon!
♥ Extras: Creating adorable tiny top hats that I want to eat like they are cupcakes! Kitty responding by drinking when I say, “Drink your milk! It makes you healthy & strong!” Nights alone with wine, favorite shows, mashed potatoes, bubble baths, and cookies. Pictures with umbrellas.
As always, I’m thankful for the time I take to produce a “things I love Thursday,” because it can be so easy to lose sight of the positive parts of my life.

I completely agree.
And “wow” about the Dahlai Lama’s brother being in your neighborhood.
I love how you sneak into the expensive movies by buying tickets to the other ones, that so sounds like something me and my BF would do! And that is such a genius idea to fix your bed, mine definitely sags in the middle too and it’s really uncomfortable!
I still haven’t seen any 3D movies, this has just occurred to me and might have to be remedied at the weekend!
My TiLT is here http://sparkleandglitter.co.uk/2009/04/visual-sparkle-5/
@Vixel – You definitely should! They’re so much better than when we were kids, and I love them.
@Ashley K – I can’t help it! If they were $9 like the other films, I’d be okay with it, or if I were buying the glasses. But a $3.50 “Entertainment Fee” is a load of shit! (Pardon my language)
I’m so happy spring is here. We didn’t get much snow, but I’m hoping it won’t rain for a while!
xx-LJ from SOS!
I haven’t see any 3D movies and I really need to. I like your way but am too much of a coward.
Also yeah for tiny top hats, I so want one . I dont know if I can rock it but hell I will try.Cant wait to see what you come up with!
@alixrose – I was totally scared to do it & worried we would get caught! I just got some new supplies for the top hats, so I’m hoping to strengthen the process & make it better each step of the way. If only I can get those last two guys finished!
@SOS! – I wish the rain would cut it out here! I know we need it, and I LOVE lush grass, but it’s such a downer!
WHAT! snow just melted !!!! holy moly. i’m so scared of moving to the mid west. so scared.
