To be honest, I don’t know anything about Lil Mama/Niatia Kirkland’s musical career. But I do know that I love America’s Best Dance Crewsomething fierce, and I love checking out the amazing outfits Lil Mama is always wearing on the show. This past season was no different; poor Faux Beau was having to hear me exclaim my love for her style as much as for the amazing performers on the show.

Can I count the ways that I love Lil Mama’s style?
♥ She is ALWAYS rocking some kind of fantastic head piece. On season 3 of America’s Best Dance Crew, it was much more feminine that her baseball caps. She often wore bows, rhinestone fascinators, feather pieces, leather headbands, and hello– a sequined WWII style hat.
♥ Structural, colorful & sequined dresses.
♥ Combined with leather bombers and structured jackets.
♥ Cute sneakers/kicks paired with everything.
♥ Bold patterns & prints for an urban/hip hop flare.

I’m pretty sure Lil Mama was the subconscious inspiration for my desires to own these DC Manteca’s in blue/pink/black.
In some ways, she’s live a living breathing piece of graffiti art. With that heart shaped mouth and candy colored clothing, I can’t help but think of her as a living Fafi girl…

I completely agree. Lil Mama is a breathing doll. I totally imagine that her closet has little elves that run around creating her outfits, from the headpiece to her shoes. Its just all so coordinated and perfect. Its a little too over the top for me but its so insanely her that its perfect.
I gush.
That pink dress is AWESOME. And are those PVC/vinyl bright blue spats in that last picture? Sweet!
I love Lil Mama as well! Her dress in the “Truly in Love” video is pretty amazing.
OMG… I love Lil’ Mama as well. A lot of people (critics) give her flack for her style, but I think it’s daring, urban and with just the right amount of playful edge.
OMG! I’ve been meaning to post on her. I love that show. I never notice what she’s wearing though. I’m more enthralled with the way she sounds like a 90-year-old woman who’s been chainsmoking for 80 years.
lil mama is a doll… love candy colors
Love! It’s so good to see I’m not the only one crazy about this little cupcake of a lady!
@Michelle – It does look like they are spats, doesn’t it? I’m not sure if they’re spats or part of her shoes, but they’re delish either way!
@kevin – I had to check out the video after you mentioned it– she looks DIVINE! Love all the WWII era inspired clothes in it.
@Stylish Thought – It’s absurd how people give flack for having style and personality. It’s all Joan Rivers fault.
@WendyB – YESSSSSS. She’s like Tinkerbell with whiskey & cigar fetish. Love it.
just shopped your blog and i really adore what you are doing.
lil mama is a “live doll” but looks like she’s having fun.
wanted to make a small introduction.
*bisous*
I do agree, she always has the most amazing outfits. however the yellow flight attendant one above, well it was just a little too much for me.
She is a doll.
Lil Momma knows how to work it, I stopped watching after the first season tho’ but her style is always unique and stylish ;)
PS: Thanks so much for nominating me :) I have added you to my blog links.
Much love always,
Glendy
The old-fashioned style is brilliant. Thanks for checking out the video!
