Spring is Ruffling My Feathers…

by Ashe on April 21, 2009

Are ruffles “in” for Spring 2009? I’m not really sure, and certainly know it doesn’t matter. This Spring, I’m absolutely adoring ruffles (even more than I typically do!). There’s something so feminine about them, that can be subtle and flirty when done right, or can be overwhelming and horrifying when done poorly.

It was unintentional that I created a dichotomy with the above set– a bright and summertime beach blanket scenario, contrasted with her darker city sister.  Is it insane (to want) to wear so many ruffles together? If it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right…

I don’t care if they’re in style or not, I love ruffles! I really love that pink clutch. It’s unabashedly girly in the best way!

They are in here in India where I live. Ruffles are cool.

Seems like a perfectly sane desire to me…but I’m probably not the best judge of sanity. It definitely would be a dramatic look.

You’ve got all those things and you’re going to wear them all together, right? Because seriously, you can never have too many ruffles.

I’ve always been a fan of ruffles…and anything ultra-girly. It’s got to be coming into style, though, because my desire to wear it just keeps growing.

Love, love, love, that bathing suit, if only I had the body for it! Well done Ashe!

OK. That HH bathing suit = to die for. If I lost 10 lbs, that is what I’d be rocking this summer LOL. So vintage glam. Also, the Topshop ruffle shoes you twittered are so adorable. VERY desirable but SO expensive, even for Topshop. Well one can drool.

@The Clothes Horse – We do love the drama (and lack of sanity) here!

@Audi – I wish I had them all (and could wear them together!). More an inspiration collage of the things appealing to me, and how I could style them together…

@Shay , @Dorie , @Natanya , @Fajr/ Stylish Thought — I’m crazy about the swimsuit, too, ladies! If only, if only… I’d be at the pool daily in it!

I agree, I love ruffles as well. I love that ruffled shirt and both of those shoes…plus the bag. :)
