This guest post was written to us by the lovely Tewanza at ShuAddikt.com on some of the Spring ’09 Shoe Trends she’s loving. And I can’t disagree with her… I just bought some ankle-strapped gladiators myself ;)
My name is Tewanza and I am addikted. Addikted to patent leather, animal prints, and 5 inch heels. I’m a ShuAddikt. Seriously, I’m part owner of my very own shoe boutique based out of Dallas, Texas and an avid dramatis personae reader. I’m honored to contribute to this series and here are my top shoe trends for Spring 09:

This spring’s latest fashion trend is shoes and heels that wrap around the ankle. These hot little numbers provide a sexy alternative to the otherwise boring “strappy” sandal. Ankle wrap sandals can be worn with almost anything, but work best when paired with a form-fitting skirt or a dress. This great new trend adds style to an otherwise plain outfit and allows you to show off one of your most valuable assets…those fabulous legs! These rockin’ snake print Marciano sandals go for $249.95 at Nordstroms.com.

Stylists from Chinese Laundry (retails for $120.00) to Stella McCartney are all wrapping up hot new ankle wrap styles for the Spring. But don’t just stop at skirts. With the coming of Spring returns 2008′s love affair with shorts. Ankle wrap sandals work well with short-shorts or a draping skirt. Trust me; you’ll look great no matter how you choose to wear this fabulous style!

Warning: Ladies that have small ankles may want to stay away from styles that don’t flatter your legs. Instead search for a form-fitting shoe in this same style. Look for a gladiator style sandal (yep, it’s back! And they’re making a strong showing this spring) that fasten around the ankle like Daker by Betsey Johnson. This task may be daunting, but with a little time and effort, you will find a shoe that provides the fit that you need in a style you’ll love! If you decide you desperately desire Daker… we’re offering a 10% discount to all dramatis personae readers.
