I’ve mentioned Etsian Pretty Good Things before. As her darling deer headband made its way around the heads of several bloggers, I became pretty consumed.
So consumed that I had to purchase a deer headband and lettuce fascinator for myself…

Now with 50% less make-up! D:
And now fall is closing in on us, and what happens? Darling Mary releases her Autumn 2009 line… Amazing gilded and twisted pieces, bunnyhead headbands, and more fun pieces with birds, butterflies, and flowers galore…

Goldie headband ♥ Bun-bun 2.0 (in grey) ♥ Bun-bun (in marigold)
The amazing Mary was sweet enough to answer a quick few questions about Pretty Good Things for us…
Describe the girl who wears Pretty Good Things:
The Pretty Good Things lady is playful, confident and authentic. She doesn’t take herself (or life) too seriously and loves color. She’s charismatic and unique. She’s awesome and fabulous, of course!
What was the inspiration for your new Autumn Collection?
Over the summer I’d been seeing rabbit ear headpieces here and there (remember this blog post?) and for some reason it stuck with me. I guess it’s no surprise because there is a nature theme that runs throughout Pretty Good Things. I am still making new fall items, but wanted to post this latest batch because I just couldn’t wait!
If you could put any piece from your collection on the head of any person, which piece on who, and why?
I’d love to put the Bun-Bun in black on Lady Gaga. I like to flatter myself thinking she’d want to wear it. Or a I’d love to put a Bun-Bun on a model in Bust Magazine because I like to dream that someday PGT will be included in a fashion spread. [Editor's Note: I'd love to see Lady Gaga in a black Bun-Bun. I secretly hoped this would be her answer.]
If you could create a collection, without cost, supplies, and inspiration holding you back, what elements would we see in it?
What I do now – but bigger and badder (bad as in rad). More sculpture, less worry on my part about making headpieces that are salable to a larger audience. So…I guess I am really talking about couture!
What can we expect in upcoming seasons from Pretty Good Things?
I’d like to work on some more traditional types of hats like berets, fedoras and newsboy hats. I’ve also been thinking about branching out to other women’s accessories. But certainly in future collections you can expect me to use more repurposed and recycled fabrics. Upcycling something forgotten like an old sweater and making it into something new, like a beret or the base of a fascinator is exciting to me. It also adds to the uniqueness of the accessory. I think PGT customers value and appreciate uniqueness. Plus, from a personal standpoint, I feel better about my role in a wasteful industry.
To top of this great post, Mary & Pretty Good Things are offering all dramatis personae readers 15% off all regular priced purchases through the month of September!
