Etsy/Indie Designers: What Lies Beneath…

Where big box retailers like Victoria’s Secret can try to stuff all women in to their narrow range of lingerie & undergarments, independent designers have more flexibility and varieties available to women.  So here is to the lovely ladies who make all women feel beautiful, who treat us to delightful pretty little things that hide under our clothes, and make us feel sexy when no one else can see it….

This post would moot without mentioning the ever glorious LouLou Loves You! From fanciful and frilly knickers to boudoir jackets, LouLou has all the lovely accessories a woman needs to feel like a woman.  Adorned with her signature bows or with heart shaped cutouts over the derriere, I’m not quite sure what pieces I love the most!

I just came across Kelsey Genna’s shop, and I love what I see. High waisted panties (that double as shorts) remind me of Lady Gaga in her “Eh Eh” video. Lace & bow bra & panty sets that are feminine but casual (and kind of make you want to show them off). She uses lots of large floral patterns and leopard print, which come off as surprisingly subdued and beautiful…

Hopeless is anything but, with fanciful and vintage inspired garter belts, camisoles, briefs, and more. Combining pinks and reds with black, her color combos are undeniably Ashe Mischief friendly!  There’s something very romantic and swoon worthy about her pieces, particularly the chevron striped briefs above…
