And I wish you luck with corsetmaking-- I've always wanted to learn how, but recognize I just don't have the patience to do it myself!

Thank you, Rebecca! I put them on and feel amazing! As a corset wearer, and soon to become a handmade corset seller, I think the info is fantastic on here!

My corsets were the best buy I ever made. As a corsetiere, I have to say that you have it totally wrong concerning plastic boning. 2 of the world's 6 best corsetieres are from South Africa, which is where I originate. This would be Mr Pearl and Arwen Swan (www.arwen.co.za). Arwen makes her tightlacers from plastic boning. I have a wide range of her products, from the merry widow range (which has a little stretch and usually worn as underwear) to the heavy weight bodices. All of which is plastic boned. I get better shape from her merry widowa than i do from imported spiral + spring steeled corsets. With one of my bodices, i got a 5 inch reduction on wear number 1, without tight lacing and without any discomfort. I myself use plastic way more than the steels. It makes the corset lighter, easy to clean. Best advantage would be that the plastic molds to your body's shape. And i must also agree that the best item i ever made was also made using plastic boning.

I just read that post in the Fashion-Y blog.
