Fashion Bloggers Choose SPUN

It’s no surprise that independent fashion bloggers are choosing SPUN– and that includes some of my favorite ladies, like Crosby at PR Couture, Jordana at Clutch 22, and Jennine at The Coveted. It’s no surprise SPUN is showing up on more and more fashion bloggers– Sara (the brilliant and wonderful woman behind SPUN) has created every eco-friendly woman’s dream: fashionable and flattering clothing that is made in the USA AND doesn’t break the bank.

I’d spent too much time lamenting that I wish SPUN came in plus-sizes, because I was convinced her beautiful pieces wouldn’t covered my busty bod. She took that as a challenge, and sent me her gorgeous Diane Wrap Dress.  I was skeptical. REALLY skeptical. It felt and looked so lovely when I pulled it out of the package, but I had my reservations about whether it’d fit.

Imagine my surprise when it kind of did. Now, it’s a bit small, but it DOES fit. If anything, I was kind of surprised that the place it fit well and best of all was my waistline, and it just gaped at the bust and below the hips.  To be honest, I think the XL wrap dress could easily fit up to a size 16 or 18 comfortably (depending on how the gal is built, of course!).

The Diane Wrap Dress did two things for me: gave me a love of wrap dresses [any one I've ever tried on has been unflattering and uncomfortable] and forced me to think creatively. I actually love the styling of it over another dress (like I wore to work here), over skirts and blouses… just in time for Autumn!

It stretched nicely over the day, too, so it provided a bit more coverage around the bust and hips. I had quite a few compliments from my gals at work, and one had loved the SPUN collection from seeing the site–so she was extra happy I wore mine in to work for her to see in person!

Sara was right about one thing– I definitely FELT sexy in the dress.  It managed to curve to my body and highlight my curves, without clinging to the parts of my body I felt uncomfortable with.

In fact, with this great piece in my closet, I’m debating picking up this B & Lu Layla Dress because they’d be a great layering pair for Fall and Winter…and some new slips, because I think paired on top of those would be a sexy and playful nod for a concert or casual night out at a bar…

To learn more about SPUN & the gorgeous Sara, check out this great piece at PR Couture.  Thank you so much again, Sara, for proving me wrong, and proving to yourself that your pieces CAN fit the fuller figured gal (and definitely make her feel like a minx!).

The dress looks great on you! Thanks for the review. I’ve heard so much about Spun and I’d checked out the website, but I wasn’t sure how it would fit. But the dress looks great and so versatile. Definitely a good choice.
