There are a LOT of things on that list that could be checked off pretty quickly (Um… Xanadu roller-skate party!? OMG Someone else loves that movie as much as I do!?)

I was talking to Jaka about this yesterday but I sometimes feel like the idea of a “Bucket list” (things to do before you die, things to do before you’re 50, etc…) lets you put your dreams on paper but fails to give you action plans on each item. Things are too far out in advance. It’s like resolutions – how many people keep to their resolutions by the end of the year? How many resolutions have completely changed or become irrelevant?

Maybe the solution is to break the bucket list down into chunks – NOW, short term (months), longer term (this year), instead of having a period of time that (though time is so fleeting) seems irrelevant because it’s so far away.

I’m sort of rambling… but your post made me think of that conversation.

Wonderful list. I do have a list like that in the works now and I’m kind of reviewing it. I’m with you on #33, 42, 51 and especially 34! I really want a tattoo and I have for years, but I keep saying that I want to be sure about it. Methinks I’m being more afraid than anything.

Looks like a great list to me!

#1 is probably the most liberating thing you can do..

And I feel you on the old Mustang! I can’t wait to get one; you won’t be getting a 50′s one, though. They started making them in 1964. ;) My dream Mustang is a 1968 Shelby convertible like my dad used to have. =D

I want a list like this now…

B, typically I try to put dates on things, but I found since the storm that…. putting dates kind of ruins things for me. There were several I had plans to do while in New Orleans, that I worry I may never get to do now because of how circumstances change…

Sheena at least we admit we’re kind of chickens!

Natalie, I may have to take you up on that! I need to take a class or get a Rosetta Stone guide…

Alicia, you’re so great. I’m ALWAYS off on car years by like, a decade. G asked me the model of the Impala in Supernatural once and I was like, I think it’s a 78! and it was like a 63. And #1.. god, I can’t wait.

I love this!!! What a great idea — why have I never done this? I love making lists, but it is always for things I “need” to do…we should all definitely have a list of things we “want” to do! I want to be invited to both your Duran Duran and your Xanadu party! ;)

Well, if you need a tour guide in Napa or someone to get you started with the millinery, I can help you out with those… as long as you invite me to that Xanadu skating party. :-)

That’s quite a hefty list, but there’s no doubt that you can do all of those and the 40 other things.. .sans #59- Get a perm, scratch that one! Trust me, I’m saving your hair!

I particularly love #16, that’s something I have to work on. So want to do #18 and #48!

I’m with Birdie on this one – break that list down into different-term goals. That’ll make it easier to cope with and way more reasonable. That’s a lot of stuff to do! I’m rooting for you. :3

I love your list! I’m thinking of doing a similar one, except for 101 things in 1001 days…a pair of Manolo Blahniks and getting rid of debt would both definitely be on my list, too.

I love this list. There are so many tasks that are simple and can be done differently. Yet, make a huge difference in people’s lives. Great job!

I was indulging for the first time in the many images of manolo blahnik and I found this site. I love your list. As an aspiring writer, I should really make more lists like this. — anyways, love your site.
