Marketa Psenickova, a Czech Republic designer come New Yorker, has recently launched a line of gorgeous, bold, and beautiful scarves under her line Marketa New York. Utilizing cashmere, organic wool, and leather, Psenickova creates scarflettes that utilize shape, curve, and line, while adding a provocative edge with her hardware buttons and fine bimetallic chains. Providing sustainability in both her craftsmanship and material sourcing, Psenickova provides buyers with a beautiful, and guilt free alternative to mass produced scarves in the upcoming months.
I was instantly struck by Psenickova’s designs: I love the functionality of them in the winter months, by decreasing bulk around the neck, while using warm materials to provide comfort & warmth. Psenickova says of her pieces:
“In looking forward to the holiday season, I felt women needed a sexy alternative to the bulky winter neck wear. The Scarflette provides an attention-grabbing addition to any outfit while remaining a functional piece offering warmth and comfort.”

The scarflette is a beautiful addition to the Marketa New York line; the Larial Cowls are a beautiful and slightly more sexy alternative to the scarflettes, and she produces leather tote bags as well (though my favorite piece may be her leather necklaces).
