I can’t help but gear myself up and prepare for the next wave of comic-inspired films to come out. From X-Men Beginnings to the series of Avengers movies, and the awe inspiring Gotham City created by Christopher Nolan.
Because of this fanatical love of all things super and villainous, I wanted to modernize the Marvel and DC universes…
Poison Ivy
Poison Ivy was a difficult girl to interpret! She’s so overtly sexy, that I kept thinking of various personaes for her to have… and then realized the danger about Poison Ivy is that it’s always hidden amongst the beauty. I opted to create the uber-femme, a girl so sticky and tacky sweet that no male could suspect a deviant girl underneath the pearls, lace and flowers…
Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman has the disadvantage of being your All-American Gal. But what’s more American than being a woman who keeps up with the times and trends of her generation? Saving the world is easy is skinny fit jeans (guaranteed to prevent leg chafing, unlike those darned hot pants)! This girl’s got more glitter and gold than Jem– not only are her bangles stylish, they’re active defenses against a villain’s worst tools!
Dark Phoenix
Dark Phoenix is one of my favorite characters. Completely hedonistic, she acts upon every feeling and thought she has. As such, a modern day Dark Phoenix would live a lap of high luxury, coiffed in her signature dark red and bronzed gold. A glam ensemble that can take her from tea time at Tiffany’s to a Met Gala (not that a girl like her would wear only one outfit per day…).
Cat Woman
Credit for this fiesty feline goes to Mademoiselle Robot who perfected her look (where I couldn’t!). Cats are infinitely playful creatures, sexy and innocent, intelligent and totally fierce. Capturing that playful but sexy attitude in an outfit is hard, but not so hard as wrecking havoc on Gotham City.
Who are you favorite other-wordly women? What vamps and vixens make you wish you could fly, read minds, had super strength and more? Design and dress them up, and share them in the comments!

Best post ever! I love you for this! I am such a big comic book heroine/villainess fan! Harley Quinn is my favorite!
PS–What blog platform do you use?
PS-I might use a variation of this idea. This is an idea my bf and I were throwing around. Great minds!
@Beka – You’re so sweet, Beka! And Harley Quinn is a GREAT one! I wish you had been around when I was brainstorming characters… the comic lovin’ Beau didn’t even think of her!
And I’m using Wordpress… Modicus Remix theme! I love it lots.
I love this post! I’m not up enough on my superheroes to join in on the fun though.
I’ve never heard of Dark Phoenix before, but that ruffly shirt is fabulous.
I am in love with that Poison Ivy dress!
And how great would that Cat Woman outfit be for Halloween?
@Lara – Lara, I swear I thought you had seen the X-Men series! Dark Phoenix is Jean Grey’s alter ego… she goes from Jean Grey to Phoenix to Dark Phoenix (the Dark being her “evil”/Villainess side…)
@Retro Chick – Cat Woman would be so fun for Halloween, and I think Mademoiselle Robot hit that on the head!
@Lara – I too love that ruffly shirt– I found it when looking for Wonder Woman tops, and it just SCREAMED the character to me…
Oh I love X-men!! and a big fan of heroes! :-)
Ok, I LOVED this article! I’m a total comic geek and if you ever publish a ‘part deux’ I’d love to see Medusa, The Scarlet Witch (my personal fav!), Power Girl and Black Widow included. Fun!
~Hots
@Hottie McNaughty – For you, my dear, I’ll definitely do a part two! I’ve been scouring my brain for others to add (I loved the Harley Quinn suggestion above). I’ll be sure to add those ladies in! I wanted to add Black Canary, too, but she was a bit hard…
YAY comic book gals! Loved this so much!
Zatanna is awesome, too!
