Absolutely Ludicrous!
I leave Thursday for a wedding in New Orleans, and there are still parts of my dress pattern lying on the kitchen table! I'd say I'm approximately 1/4 of the way done (perhaps more, if I'm lucky, though I doubt it!).

Will I make it before the Wednesday night deadline? Will I be finishing hems on the way to the chapel? Or will it end up in a pile of fury and disappointment, and I'll end up wearing the black silk dress my friend made (that I still haven't finished the hem on?)?

"A pile of fury and disappointment" -- that's a great description of my usual state.

Good luck! I'm usually finishing stuff off at the last minute. I finished my corset about half an hour before we left for gradball. I was still sewing my halloween costume a couple of years ago as guests were arriving for my party.
So, the moral is: don't be like Lara.

Wendy, I'm glad to have such delightful company in the pile!
Thanks, Lara! I think I'm a lot farther along than I feel (which will happen when I've skipped steps that I couldn't accomplish; ie, moving on to sewing skirt pieces together because I didn't have my iron/board).
Hopefully I'll be able to get it done tonight! Then make any necessary adjustments tomorrow.

Obviously I meant to write YOU not YO, even though I am hip enough to use the word YO, I am!
